The Muscatine Fire Department celebrated 100 Years of Service to the City of Muscatine in January with an open house. Now, Muscatine Art Center will host an exhibition that tells the story of the Fire Department’s history in our community. The display will feature artifacts from the history of the department, including hose nozzles, a life net, signs, uniforms, safety gear and more!

Join us for the Public Reception in honor of the opening of the exhibition on Friday, May 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Muscatine Art Center, 1314 Mulberry Avenue.

On June 16 and July 14 at 5:30 p.m., Retired Captain Mike Van Wey will give history presentations about the Muscatine Fire Department. Van Wey is a wealth of knowledge about the department and has many stories to share.

Fire fighters will also be making a special appearance at the Friends of the Muscatine Art Center’s Annual Ice Cream Social on Sunday, June 26.

The Fire Department exhibition will be on display from May 21 to Aug. 7, 2016 during regular business hours:
