While this week’s weather in Muscatine hasn’t been particularly warm, pool season is still right around the corner! We want to make sure you know about one of the great features of the Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) Laboratory. They offer services to test pools and spas for reporting to the Iowa Department of Public Health.
All pools and spas open for public use are required monthly testing to ensure public safety. The City of Muscatine can provide the testing services for those with public pools through our new state of the art laboratory at WPCP. With convenient and easy sample drop offs, there’s no need to drive out of town for pool and spa testing services! The laboratory has been certified for E. coli and Coliform testing since 2010. This testing has been expanded to include swimming pools. To include spas, the laboratory has recently added testing for Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
